BYU Coach LaVell Edwards' signature on a new five-year contract
extension opens the possibility that Edwards can enter one of

could coach another 70 games.
LDS Church-owned Bonneville creates new Sports Television Entity (Regional Sports Television Entity Announced)
"We believe that SportsWest will provide a great benefit to sports
fans as well as the nine universities and their local television
affiliates," said Steve Lindsley, President of KSL TV Group, parent
company of SportsWest. "Fans will see more of their favorite local
college teams, while each school will benefit from the additional
exposure and rights fees."
SportsWest Is Must-See TV
Sports fans in the west will get to see more football and basketball
as a result of an outgrowth of the Blue &White Network, a Salt Lake
City based sports network owned by Bonneville Communications, the LDS
Church's television and radio holding company. In the past Blue &
White has broadcast mainly BYU sporting events. But with the
inception of SportsWest, that scope will broaden.
