Mormon Woman Builds Bath Salts Business

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- Deena Pyle, the creator and owner of a company called Mosaic Bridges, believes in the value of rituals and the use of bathing as a ceremony.

With this in mind, the Draper, Utah woman has developed a line of bath products based on the ancient Asian concept of chakra. Chakra, a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel of light," relates to the centers of energy located along a person's body - from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.

Pyle's red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet - colored chakra salts are meant to focus on specific areas of the body. The orange chakra, for example, centers on the vicinity near a person's navel, she says. The BYU graduate has a long standing interest in natural healing and has combined that discipline with metaphysical and spiritual healing. Pyle produces the chakra salts, which are made from Great Salt Lake salts, food coloring and natural oils, in the basement of her home overlooking the Salt Lake Valley.
