Blues musician joins race for Sandpoint mayor
Spokane WA Spokesman-Review 22Sep99 P2
By Susan Drumheller: The Spokesman-Review

SANDPOINT -- Jesse Warburton, 53, a professional window washer, local blues musician and radio talk show host for KPND radio, is trying to get his name on the election ballot for mayor of the Sandpoint, Washington, near Spokane.

Bro. Warburton, who describes himself as a "new age, born-again Mormon", just wants to help people tune into a spiritual life. He has no real civic experience or special qualifications, but is running because, as he says, "I don't like the direction that this country is going,"

Further explaining, "I don't know a whole world about politics, but I see a lot of dishonesty and deceit. If I don't do something about it, I have no reason to gripe."
