Hatch tells Utah GOP he'll run for president
Utah Senator Orrin Hatch, a member of the LDS Church, has apparently
decided to try running for president. Hatch reportedly told a meeting of
Republican party leaders on Friday, June 18th that he will enter the race.

There was a segment on Tuesday's edition of NPR's "All Things Considered"
on gun control attitudes in Utah. The Church figured prominently in the
report, and a sound bite of President Hinckley was even included.
Hatch to announce presidential bid next week, friends and aides report
Utah Senator Orrin Hatch, a member of the LDS Church, is expected to
announce as early as next week that he will form an exploratory committee
to seek the Republican nomination for president of the United States.
