SPOKANE, WASHINGTON -- President Hinckley, in town for the dedication of the
Spokane Temple, spoke to 12,000 sharply dressed MIA and Young Adult aged
young people assembled last Sunday.
President Hinckley couldn't help but predict a bright future for the next
generation. "We're counting on you. Don't ever let us down; don't let your
parents down. Don't ever do anything that would weaken the family chain."
President Hinckley showered the youth with compliments and exhorted them to
follow the six "B's:" be grateful, be smart, be clean, be true, be humble
and be prayerful. "You will bring honor to this church," he said.
As he left, the congregation rose to their feet to quietly wave good-bye.
