Europe trip has special significance for Nielsen

Europe trip has special significance for Nielsen
Provo UT Daily Herald 15Aug99 L5
By Dick Harmon: The Daily Herald

PROVO, UTAH -- BYU's basketball team just finished touring Europe. This article, written before the trip, highlights the experiences that sophomore Eric Nielsen may have. One stop on the trip will be Croatia where Nielsen, who served a mission in Russia will be able to use his fluency in the Russian language.

Another stop will be Italy, where Nielsen's father Chris will be, as he travels to return to the site of his mission 25 years ago. Then, on to England where Nielsen, hopefully, will be able to meet up with his younger brother, Nathan. Nathan has been serving a full-time mission in England since march. Since the younger brother left for his mission 2 months before Eric returned from his mission, this is a rare opportunity to see each other.

The visit will also be an emotional one for head coach Steve Cleveland, who will be returning to his old mission field of London, England.
