Quilts for refugees
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all across
the US have been involved in quilt making and blanket collection
projects for the refugees of Kosovo. Relief Society organizations
have targeted the month of August with scheduled shipments to be
ready by early September.
This article highlights the efforts of some of the Saints in
Minneapolis Minnesota. The young women of the Hmong congregation of
the Church in Minneapolis. Because most members of the congregation
are refugees from Vietnam, those involved have experience and a
personal understanding of the plight of refugees. The young women,
with eight older helpers, produced seven quilts, which along with
another 43 quilts made by the other congregations in the Burnsville
stake, will soon be sent to Kosovo.
