Mormons' temple of boom

Summarized by Kent Larsen

Mormons' temple of boom
Spokane WA Spokesman-Review 1Aug99 C3
By Kelly McBride: Spokesman-Review

and 3 additional articles listed at the end of this article

The Spokesman-Review had 3 articles on Sunday, August 1st, following a notice on Saturday, July 31st that the eight-day open house for the Spokane Washington Temple will begin on Friday, August 6th. The articles give background information on the LDS Church, and the purpose of Temples.

The Church expects tens of thousands of visitors to the open house and plans the Temple dedication on August 21st. Members of the Church in the 'Inland Northwest,' as eastern Washington, Oregon and western Idaho are known, are very excited to have the Temple. Membership in the area has grown to 85,000, making the LDS Church the single largest denomination in the area.

The articles give background information on the Church, talk about the ordinances performed in Temples and examine the myths associated with the Church.
