Summarized by Nicholas Maddox

Ex-Judge Taking Walk Around County Boundary
Salt Lake Tribune 25May99 L5
By Lin Alder: Special to the Tribune

ST. GEORGE -- Robert Owens, from St. George Utah, wants to be the first to circumnavigate Washington County in the Southwest corner of Utah. This 70-year old retired 6th Circuit Judge has a strategy of completing a series of day hikes along the 190 mile border. His greatest supporter is Cheer, his wife of 47 years.

The article deserves a read and contains priceless stories from Owens past climbing experiences as well as noting his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Virginia and his long experience with scouting.
