Players find different environment in Utah

Players find different environment in Utah
Portland OR Oregonian 19May99 L3
By Steve Brandon : The Oregonian staff

SALT LAKE CITY -- As the Trailblazers prepared to play one of the biggest games of the season, many team members reflected on how the environment in Utah differed from that in Oregon. Many of the basketball team tried to approach the game as just another regular game however, they said the total enviroinment around them in Utah was different.

Jazz player, Thurl Bailey, a member of the Church since December of 1995, made a choice to return to the Jazz after playing in Europe for 4 seasons. He mentions that now he is a member ofthe church that he has complete direction in his life. He also attributed his faith as the reason he chose to stay in Utah instead of going after the big money playing in Europe would mean. His decision to remain here has enabled him tostay closer to his family and to be able to watch his son play 8th grade basketball.

Baily stated, "You have to make a living but there are a lot more important thngs gong on than what you might do for selfish reasons."
