American West is her next topic

Laura Maffly-Kipp developed a major interest in Mormons while doing graduate work in American history at Yale University. Maffly-Kipps is not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but has done tremendous research into the impact that Mormonism has had in the migration to the western United States. She has also done extensive studies into the interest in the Church by the native people on the isles of the South Seas and the Pacific. She has conducted research at Brigham Young University, has lectured at the Charles Redd Center for Western History and has conducted a seminar in Mormon studies in North Carolina. Maffly-Kipp is currently in the process of writing a book on the religious history of the American West.
