Obituary: He helped develop highway crash barriers
Sacramento CA Bee 20Jan99
By Steve Gibson: Bee Staff Writer

Salt Lake City native and World War II Army Veteran, Grant W. Walker was 73 when he passed away Saturday.

He earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1952 and was part of the team to research and develop the shock-absorbing highway crash barriers currently used in the U.S. and in many other places all over the world.

Other facets of his life as inventor, church leader and family man are mentioned in the article.

Funeral services are planned for Thursday 10 a.m. at the Mormon church located at 2745 Eastern Avenue, Sacramento.
