Businessman Paul Buehner dies at 86

Paul Buehner, former president of what was then the Ohio-West Virginia
Mission (now the Ohio Columbus Mission), died Thursday, January 21st at LDS
Hospital in Salt Lake City from complications of heart disease. He was 86.
Buehner worked in the concrete products business for more than 65 years,
working as vice president of Otto Buehner Co. and later as president of
Buehner Concrete. The family business, started by Buehner's father, Carl
around the turn of the century, provided materials for many LDS temples, and
provided pre-cast architectural stone slabs for the LDS Church Office
building. In 1964, the company was featured on the cover of Concrete
Products magazine as the 'Nation's Best Known Pre-caster."
He attended the University of Utah after graduating from Granite High
School, where he lettered in football and basketball and was student body
president. He graduated from the U in 1934 with a degree in buesiness and
finance.
