Valley Briefs: Still no sign of Mesa (Mormon) girl

Summarized by Kent Larsen

Valley Briefs: Still no sign of Mesa (Mormon) girl
(Phoenix) AZ Republic 8Jan99

An 11-year-old Mesa, Arizona LDS girl, Mikelle Biggs, has been missing since January 2nd. Police have spent five days searching for her.

Mikelle was last seen waiting for an Ice Cream truck. Her bicycle and the change she had was found near where she had been waiting for the truck, but there has been no sign of Mikelle.

Police have been following tips regarding a copper-colored Jeep seen in the area about the time Mikelle disappeared. They are also looking for the ice cream truck.

The disappearance is getting a lot of press attention in Phoenix. Her Stake has spearheaded community efforts to help find her, using as many as 500 volunteers to distribute 50,000 flyers over a 44 square mile area.
