Internet: New LDS Businesses and LDS forums
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- New websites for nascent LDS businesses dominate the
new websites this week. The Church Flag, Cornerstone Collectibles and Hagoth
Publishing join long-time coin dealer Rust Rare Coin as newly-added sites on
the major LDS directories. Of the businesses, Rust Rare Coin has the
best-developed website and is the best-known business. The others seem to be
start-up businesses.
Meanwhile, a new forum website, LDS Forums.net provides discussion forums
for LDS Church members along with a smaller message board and links site,
Modern Latter-day Saint.
Newly Listed Mormon Websites:
The Church Flag
Manufacturer and vendor of the "Church Flag," a new version of a flag used
in Nauvoo and early Utah by the Mormon pioneers. Sells flags as well as
t-shirts, hats, stickers and other items containing the image.
Cleve and Anita Raymond Progenitors
Personal genealogy page on the ancestors of the Raymond family. Includes
information on their many Mormon pioneer ancestors.
Cornerstone Collectibles
Manufacturer and vendor of gift items decorated with LDS Temples. Sells
jewelry boxes, memorandum pad holders, mugs, plates and tiles all with
images of 21 different Temples.
Greater Things
A collection of electronic texts from a variety of sources. They include
writings by Parley P. Pratt, Joseph Fielding Smith and Bruce R. McConkie.
Hagoth Publishing Company
Hawaii-based fiction publisher of "Unfinished Business," a novel about an
LDS woman whose husband dies in an accident. Doesn't appear to have any
other titles.
LDS Forums
New message board website for Latter-day Saints. Includes forums on each
volume of the scriptures, advice forums for new members, missionaries,
lessons and talks and testimonies, a news forum and chat forums for singles
and for everyone.
Misconceptions of LDS Beliefs
Website giving a list of short explanations of LDS beliefs that are commonly
misunderstood. Includes explanations of polygamy, racism, evidences of the
Book of Mormon, "Magic Undies" (garments), Satan and tithing.
Modern Latter-Day Saint
Site that provides message boards and a list of LDS links. Includes message
boards for books, videos, recipes, leisure time, weddings, kids, etc.
Rust Rare Coin
Long-time dealer in rare coins which also manufactures a line of Temple
medallions that includes more than 60 LDS temples. Also publishes a book on
early Mormon and Utah currency, coins and scrip.
