LDS Internet Radio Station Now On Its Own

ST. GEORGE, UTAH -- KZION LDS Internet Radio, the only independent, Internet-based music radio station which caters to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, recently took another step forward in progress as they began operating with their own equipment. Previous to May 9th, KZION had used Live365.com's free services for broadcasting.

John Hesch, co-owner of KZION realized that with attracting over 300 listeners per day, the services offered by Live365.com failed to complete the professional and spiritual image he envisioned for KZION. "We felt the advertising on Live365 was disruptive for our style of radio station and we encountered too many interruptions."

Now that KZION's service is completely controlled by KZION staff, Hesch and his Canadian partner Kim Siever are able to offer live broadcasting 24 hours per day and seven days per week. "When we were with Live365," Siever says, "we were restricted in what we could do. Live 365 required us to upload our songs to their servers and then users could listen to them as they were listed."

"With our new system, we can take requests and play what songs they want, like traditional DJs," Hesch adds. "We have over 750 songs currently listed and that number is constantly growing. Visitors to the website are able to browse through our catalogue, pick a song, and within a few minutes hear it playing over their computer."

KZION has humble beginnings, starting as just a couple of mp3 downloads Hesch and Siever offered for free on one of their other websites at http://www.ldsteach.com. Seeing the popularity of offering downloads, they managed to find more LDS musicians and then began offering a continuous stream of music with Live365.

KZION LDS Music Radio is a privately owned, Internet-based radio station that plays music performed by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Genres of music offered by KZION range from Christian to pop to alternative to country. Sundays are reserved for their more spiritual titles. KZION is based out of St. George, Utah, and is affiliated with LDSMusicworld.com, LDSMusician.com and LDSMusicians.com. You can find KZION on the Internet at http://www.kzion.com.

Musicians interested in having their music broadcasted on KZION should visit the submission page at the KZION website (http://www.kzion.com/submit.html).
