Missionaries Help Clean Up San Bernardino Road

SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA -- Missionaries from the California San
Bernardino Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are
out helping to clean up a San Bernardino neighborhood. The missionaries
volunteered tohelp clean up and landscape the intersection of Kendall Drive
and Little Mountain Drive as part of a project started by San Bernardino
resident Chas Kelley.
Kelley was bothered by the amount of litter in that neighborhood and got to
work fixing the problem. Securing the support of resident associations and
neighborhood groups in the area, he secured $3,000 in grants from the San
Bernardino Economic Development Agency. Volunteers, including the LDS
missionaries, planted Texas Ash trees and low growing plants, installed
plumbing along the sidewalks and cleaned up accumulated trash.
