'Standing For Something' Due in Paperback Next Month
LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley's bestselling book "Standing for Something" will be released in paperback by Random House's Three Rivers Press next month. The book hit national bestseller lists in the US last March when a hardcover edition of the book was released, and stayed on the lists through May.

Hatch's Song Sung at National Prayer Breakfast
Utah Senator Orrin Hatch's songwriting has once again landed in the public eye. The Ref. Wintley Phipps, a two-time Grammy nominee for gospel singing, sang Hatch's "Heal Our Land" at the 49th annual National Prayer Breakfast at the Washington Hilton.

Critics Slam Tonights Osmond 'Biopic'
Television critics nationwide have little respect for the Osmond 'Biopic' to be televised tonight (ABC, 8pm EST), calling the family-authorized made-for-TV movie "weak" and "campy." The only reviewer that "kind of" liked the movie was in the New York Post.

BYU's Young Ambassadors Celebrate 30th Anniversary
One of BYU's best-known entertainment groups, the Young Ambassadors, will celebrate its 30th anniversary at a show Saturday on BYU's campus. The show, "Curtain Time," has been in production since September, and will kick off the 26-member group's 30th year tour.

Mormon Titles Slowly Sink on Bestseller Lists
The most popular Mormon titles on national bestseller lists fell slightly again on most lists, dropping off a few. Orson Scott Card's "Shadow of the Hegemon" remains on seven lists, but is dropping on all of them. Stephen Ambrose's history of the construction of the transcontinental railroad, which has information on the Mormon pioneers that helped build the railroad, also dropped, but slowly, and remains on six lists.

Cope, Swindle and Black Join Forces for Life of Christ Project
At a press conference this afternoon in snowy Salt Lake City, three of today's leading artistic personalities announced the title of their latest collaboration, a project which will set a new standard for excellence in the genre of religious art. Kenneth Cope, Liz Lemon Swindle and Susan Easton Black will spend the next several years researching and creating a multimedia presentation centered on the life of Jesus Christ. Entitled Son of Man: God with Us, the project will detail scenes from the life of the most influential man to ever walk on the face of the earth.

BYU art student rolls a strike with 'Bowler Coaster' sculpture
A two-story replica of a roller coaster created by a Brigham Young University student sculptor propels a bowling ball 45 to 50 miles per hour around loops and turns on 200 feet of steel track.

Student film wins honors, is featured in SlamDance Festival
A film by a Brigham Young University illustration major won honors at a state film competition and was featured at the recent SlamDance Film Festival. Bryan Lefler's "War Play" garnered best picture and best director awards at the Eclipse Film Festival in St. George, Utah. The SlamDance Festival ran in tandem with the recent Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

BYU Studies features depictions of the Savior
The most recent issue of BYU Studies (volume 39.3) features 15 color prints of LDS artists' depictions of the Savior.

Jenny Oaks Baker, Jenny Naylor Richards in BYU recital Feb. 16
Violinist Jenny Oaks Baker and pianist Jenny Naylor Richards will perform a free concert, "The Jennys," Friday (Feb. 16) at 7:30 p.m. in Brigham Young University's Madsen Recital Hall.
