SANDY, UTAH -- Police arrested a man Wednesday who claims to have set
the fire in the Seminary office in an LDS Chapel Monday. The 18-year-old
man says he set the fire because he was angry with his parents for
trying to force him to attend church.
The arrest came after police tried to stop the man for driving early
Wednesday morning with his headlights off. He ran from police,
eventually loosing control of his car and crashing into a tree. In
addition to holding him on suspicion of arson, police are investigating
charges of burglary, theft, fleeing a police officer, reckless driving,
possession of stolen credit cards and traffic violations.
