Even President Hinckley Searched at Olympics
Security at the 2002 Winter Olympics was so tight that even LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley and his wife, Marjorie Pay Hinckley, were searched as they arrived to attend one of the many events.

Missionaries Push Family History at Local Fair
The LDS missionaries running a booth at the 40th annual Ripon Almond Blossom Festival may not have had many interested in free family history search, but their creative banner got them noticed in the Stockton Record.

President Hinckley Lauds Success of Olympics, Contributions of Volunteers
During news interviews today, President Gordon B. Hinckley praised the efforts and skills of volunteers who helped make the 2002 Winter Games a success. "What a great resource we had in the language ability in so many of our people who had served missions abroad in many countries and speak with ease in the language of the people with an appreciation for their culture," he said.
