92-year-old LDS Man Awarded Distinguished Eagle from Boy Scouts

SALEM, OREGON -- Charles Foulger, 92, was presented with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award on Sunday at the Salem Oregon Stake Center, the first resident of Salem to be honored with the Distinguished Eagle Award. The award is given to Eagles Scouts who have distinguished themselves in their life work, service to church and to their communities. Other recipients have included U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith of Oregon (also an LDS Church member) and former President Ford. The award has been given just 1,500 times in the U.S.
