A Commemorative Salute to the First 100 Temples

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- It was in October 1998 when President Gordon
B. Hinckley announced that "in all likelihood, we will have 100 or
more temples operating in the year 2000." Commemorating the
realization of that promise, Deseret Book is pleased to present "The
First 100 Temples" (Eagle Gate, a division of Deseret Book, $39.95),
a beautiful compilation of drawings from bestselling artist Chad S.
Hawkins that combines with historical summaries and inspirational
stories about the first 100 temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints.
Never before has one artist accomplished the monumental task of
creating illustrations of so many different temples. Each drawing has
incorporated Chad's signature "hidden" images, representing an
important event related to that particular temple. The author
conducted hundreds of interviews and did extensive research in
creating this landmark collectible piece. Designed as a tribute to
the sacrifice and commitment of those who labored to make temples dot
the earth, "The First 100 Temples" will be a cherished keepsake for
generations to come.
The commemorative first edition of "The First 100 Temples" features a
color insert of six frameable prints.
Chad is also releasing a cassette tape entitled "Holy
Places--Inspiring Stories from the First 100 Temples" (Eagle Gate,
$10.95). The tape shares Chad's fascinating behind-the-scenes stories
about the building of temples around the world.
