Sports: Madsen and Bradley Have Strong Weeks; Three Mormons Left in NCAAs
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- After the first week of the NCAA tournament, just Duke
and Stanford are left with Mormon players, and only the players on
Stanford's team are expected to play much in the tournament's final games.
In professional sports, Shawn Bradley and Mark Madsen had strong weeks,
while in Golf only three golfers (of nine) played in last weekend's
tournaments.
In addition to strong performances from Madsen and Bradley, the New York
Knicks' Travis Knight managed to get a little playing time, but not enough
to contribute to the team. Both Scot Pollard and Mark Pope had weaker than
average performances last week. In golf, Jay Don Blake and Dan Forsman both
played the Bay Hill Invitational, placing 43rd and 23rd respectively. Bruce
Summerhays,the only active player of the three Mormon players on the senior
tour, tied for 15th place in the Siebel Classic in Silicon Valley.
Please let us know of any other teams you may know have Mormon players.
