  No Matter What the Score, Reid Wins
Should the Philadelphia Eagles win Sunday over the New York Giants, who have beaten them twice already this year, it may be something of a miracle. But Philadelphia fans won't be that surprised. Coach Andy Reid has given them at least one miracle already -- the Eagles made the playoffs.

  Murphy Again On Baseball Hall Of Fame Ballot
Baseball sportswriters have voted again, and LDS baseball star Dale Murphy was again on the ballot. But while several writers who have publicly released their votes say they have voted for Murphy, it is unlikely that he will be inducted. Murphy was on the ballot for the third time this year, along with better-known players like Kirby Puckett, Davie Winfield, "Goose" Gossage, Tommy John and Steve Garvey. Results of the votes will be announced next week.

  Mormon News Resumes Sports Stats
With the start of the new year, Mormon News will again attempt to provide weekly sports stats on Mormon players. This past week represents a lull in sports, as the NFL playoffs have started and NBA games continue, but other major sports are off.

  Cramer Chosen To Play On U.S. National Team
BYU All-American Aleisha Cramer is one of five college players chosen as part of the 18-member U.S. National Team that is slated to play two games in China in January.

  Wesley Earns Second MWC Player of the Week Honor
BYU senior forward Mekeli Wesley was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week Wednesday after leading the Cougars (10-4) to a 3-2 record over the past two weeks. This is the second player of the week honor for Wesley this season and third weekly MWC award of his career.

  Crowton Puts Finishing Touches on Coaching Staff
BYU head football coach Gary Crowton today announced two new additions to the coaching staff and has outlined the new assistant coaching assignments.

  Three Cougar Seniors Make All-Star Soccer Team
All-American Staci Reynolds headlines the three BYU players who will participate in the Umbro All-Star Select Tournament in February at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

  Intercollegiate athletics at Ricks/BYU-Idaho to give way to expanded student activities program
Athletics isn't going away at Ricks College, emphasizes athletic director Garth Hall. "As intercollegiate athletics is phased out, there will be a proportionate increase in other on-campus athletic activities to take its place," he says.

  Women Let 15-Point Lead Get Away, Lose To Nebraska
After having a comfortable 15-point lead with six and half minutes left in the game, BYU's women's basketball team did not get another basket. And the visiting Nebraska team took advantage of it, picking up the three-point 56-53 win, Tuesday.
