SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- The major Internet magazine, The Standard, looked at the LDS Church's familysearch.org site. recently. Since it went on-line in May 1999, the Family Research Center has averaged between 7 million and 9 million visitors daily, making it one of the most heavily trafficked sites on the Internet. The church's family history project began in 1894, and now includes 650 million names in its archives. An additional million are added monthly.
