Singers Perform for Southern Alberta

CARDSTON, ALBERTA, CANADA -- Two second cousins have banded together to share a selection of their favourite songs with Southern Alberta. Cameron Cahoon and Candice Johnson will be singing pieces from such performances as Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Tarzan and The Lion King in a programme entitled Musical Treasures.

Cahoon has been a long-time singer, singing since he was seven. He has toured throughout Canada, the United States and Europe, and this fall will be his fourth year at the Westminster Conservatory of Music. He is planning on using some of his favourites songs of the performance in an upcoming CD project.

Johnson, engaged to be married this summer, is a Brigham young University alumnus. he coloratura soprano graduated from BYU with a degree in vocal performance. Though she only started on her musical career at the end of high school, what she lacks in time, she makes up for in education. She is currently teaching voice at the University of Lethbridge. She has performed with the University Singers and in various productions at the Carriage House Theatre in Cardston.

The pair's performance will be on Saturday, August 26, 2000 at the Carriage House Theatre in Cardston. Phone 403.653.1000 for ticket information.
