Madsen On No. 1 Team After Stanford Win, Cincinnati Loss
LDS basketball player Mark "Mad Dog" Madsen is part of a major change to the Stanford Cardinal basketball team, which moved into the No. 1 slot in this weekend's AP poll. Historically, the Cardinals haven't been a major force in college basketball; the team didn't even play in the NCAA tournament between 1942 and 1989. But now the team has earned respect, and may finish the season ranked No. 1.

 Hawaii's LDS Surfing Sisters
The Magelssen family of Aina Haina in Hawaii has earned a lot of notoriety in the Hawaiian surfing scene, not only for their surfing talent (which is world class), but also for their well-rounded lifestyle. The article notes that the four sisters ( Noelle-19, Marie-17, Joy-14, and Kristen-12) "stand out for their wholesomeness, for their intelligence, for their smiles and for their natural ability."
