LDS Musician Is Outstanding Utah High School Music Educator of the Year
(State of the State)
Salt Lake Tribune 17Feb00 A2

PROVO, UTAH -- LDS Church member Lois Johnson has been named Outstanding High School Music Educator of the year by the Utah Music Educators Association, according to the Utah County newspaper New Utah. Johnson was given the award at the group's recent convention in St. George, Utah.

Johnson was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for 19 years and was a BYU faculty member for 17 years, teaching voice. She is honored by the designation and for the opportunity to be a teacher and friend to so many students, "We build a bond that is closer than what most teachers are able to have,'' Johnson says.
