Mormon temple dedicated in Billings

Summarized by Kent Larsen

Mormon temple dedicated in Billings
KULR TV 8 Billings MT 21Nov99 D1

BILLINGS, MONTANA -- The Billings Montana Temple was dedicated Saturday at a dedicatory ceremony presided over by LDS Church president Gordon B. Hinckley. The day also featured a cornerstone laying ceremony attended by up to 1,000. A 20-voice choir performed during the ceremonies.

The dedication follows a two-week open house attended by more than 68,000 people. They got a chance to see the 33,800-square-foot building prior to its dedication and closure to the general public.

Hundreds of Church members lined up outside the temple waiting to enter the first of eight dedicatory sessions planned during the weekend. The temple will serve 35,000 LDS Church members in Montana and Wyoming.
