BYU student attends Cairo meet as Scout delegate
Deseret News 28Sep99 P2

LDS Church member Jonathan D. Rodriguez, 23, was chosen by the Boy Scouts of America as one of three Eagle Scouts to represent the United States at a gathering in Cairo, Egypt earlier this month. Rodriguez attended the second International Youth Gathering for the Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of the Pyramids, Sphinx and Other Antiquities, held September 1 to 10th, earlier this month.

Rodriguez and the others were selected because of they are Eagle Scouts and because of their continued participation in Scouting and demonstrated leadership. Rodriguez is from Plano, Texas and served an LDS mission to Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is studying accounting at BYU and plans to go on to study International Law.
