Book of Mormon Language Translations Released

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- The Book of Mormon is now available in full or in part in over 100 languages with the release of several new translations. Recent Book of Mormon translations include Albanian, Amharic (spoken by 25% of people in Ethiopia), Bulgarian, Estonian, and Xhosa. Latvian, Lithuanian, and Serbian translations are nearing completion.

The New Testament or portions thereof are available in 2262 languages, while the entire Bible (Old and New Testaments) is available in 383 languages. The Bible is currently being translated into 672 additional languages. Bible translations were released in 28 new languages during the year 2000. Most recently, New Testament translations have recently been completed in Kazakh (spoken in Kazakhstan) and Punjab (spoken in Punjab province of Northern India).
