Conference agenda reflects changes within RLDS Church
Kansas City KS Star 2Apr00 N5
By Helen T. Gray: The Kansas City Star

INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI -- While the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints met in annual conference in Salt Lake City, Utah last week, the Church's step-sister, the RLDS church, was in conference in Independence. The Church, whose membership is now at a quarter million, is undergoing a few changes as it becomes more of a world-wide church. Among the changes are the installation of a new Apostle, Bunda C. Chibwe, and African of Zambia; and the consideration of changing the name of the Church to "Community of Christ" (Although it's legal name would remain the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints).
