Sister Okazaki To Speak At 'Okazaki' Stake, Japan
Shoji Hayami 20Mar00 N2

Sister Chieko Okazaki, former counselor in the General Relief Society presidency, will speak at a district 30-year anniversary commemoration service at Okazaki Stake, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on April 12th. Chieko Okazaki served as first counselor in the General Relief Society presidency from 1990-1997, continues to write and speak about LDS issues, and is well known for her five best-selling LDS books. Among them, "Lighten Up" has been translated and read in many countries.

30 years ago, Sister Okazaki's husband, Elder Edward Okazaki (died 10 years ago), the president of Western Japan mission decided to organize a district at a town named the same as his family! The Okazaki Stake must be unforgettable to Sister Okazaki.
