Most Eligible LDS Bachelor Gets Married
(49er QB Steve Young To Get Married)
Associated Press 14Mar00 P2

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- The most eligible LDS bachelor, Steve Young was scheduled to get married today. Young was to marry girlfriend Barbara Graham in the new Kailua-Kona Temple in Hawaii. The location of the wedding had previously been kept secret to avoid publicity.

Young met Graham about 18 months ago through mutual friends. An ASU graduate, Graham is a convert to the LDS Church, who joined after she met Young. She works in public relations in Phoenix.

Since the Temple wedding is only open to LDS Church members in good standing, the couple will hold a reception later, to which about 90 guests are invited. Invited guests include 49ers coach Steve Mariucci and former 49ers Brent Jones and Harris Barton.

The status of Young's football career is still uncertain. He has said he wants to return to the field, but he missed most of last season with a concussion, at least the eighth in his career. There have been suggestions that Young may end up as a TV commentator, perhaps on Monday Night Football.
