Pres. Bateman Q&A session to be netcast live on NewsNet
(BYU) Daily Universe 27Oct99 D3
By Sarah Monson: World/National Editor

An annual question and answer session with BYU's President Merrill J. Bateman will be broadcast live at 1 pm MDT (3pm EST, 8pm GMT) today on the Internet. In addition to an audio and video feed of President Bateman's answers, Internet viewers can ask questions by e-mail.

BYU's Student Advisory Council has already prepared some questions for President Bateman, based on anticipated topics. The e-mail questions will be screened by SAC president Brandon Christensen, who will pass them on to President Bateman as time permits. Questions can be sent to: prez@cronkite.byu.edu.

According to BYU's University Communications Director Carri Jenkins, Batemen is anticipating the session, "He welcomes this opportunity to hear from students, to hear their concerns and to hear their ideas. Many constructive ideas have come from these Q&A sessions. We hope that if online viewers do have a question they will send them in -- the president would love to respond to them in a way that he's never been able to do before."
