Re: Oh My Heck, Flippin' Fetch Isn't Really Swearing, Is It?

Dear Editor:

Flippin' fetch

A recent convert once told me that, in the ears of every non-member he knew before he joined the Church, "Oh my gosh!" sounded identical to its worldly counterpart. Because Mormons keep the intonation and inflection the same as the blasphemous version, many people don't even notice the slight change of consonant at the end. And those who do notice think the Mormon is just wanna-be worldly. I can hardly blame them. Is it really somehow more celestial to be a -sh-ite than a d-ite?
