Mission President Dale Murphy may return to Baseball (Ricky Martin: As great as it gets)

Summarized by Kent Larsen

Mission President Dale Murphy may return to Baseball (Ricky Martin: As great as it gets)
USA Today pg 2D 6Dec99 S2
By Larry King

Larry King notes in his USA Today column that former Atlanta Braves baseball star, Dale Murphy, currently serving as president of the Boston Massachussets Mission, may return to baseball when his mission ends next spring. King says that Murphy wants to come back and says that he would make a great pitching coach.

Murphy is also facing a second round of eligibility for baseball's Hall of Fame. Murphy's name is one of many candidates held over from last year, his first year of eligibility. To make the hall, he must be selected by 75% of the 10-year members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America. The writers will choose from the holdovers and 14 new candidates.

Ballots for the Hall of Fame were sent to the writers this week. The announcement isn't expected until January.
