Solicitors Not Allowed/Attorney fires legal salvo at developer's refusal to sell him a home
San Francisco CA Chronicle 19May99 L5
By Pamela J. Podger: Chronicle Staff Writer

LDS member Timothy Liebaert and his wife, Kelly are battling with a builder in Bakersfield over the purchase of a new home. The Burlington Homes builder has refused to sell a home in the Fairway Oaks area because Liebaert is a lawyer. The Leiberts have filed a lawsuit

The Kern County Superior Courts today will concider if cival rights discrimination under the Unruh Civil Rights Act covers occupation. The builder claims it is his perogative to choose to sell. His claim is that lawyers and doctor tend to sue more therefore it costs more to sell to a lawyer.
