PROVO, UTAH -- Dean and Marva Draper, of Fresno, California, saw an
announcement on a church bulletin for missionaries with a background in
art. They are now the first service missionaries to work at the BYU Museum
of Art.
Brother Draper earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in art, then
taught art in the schools for 36 years. Sister Draper was able to stay home
to raise the couple's nine children.
The Drapers arrived at the museum in August. They have designed and are
launching a new Senior Art Reach (SAR) program. The aim of SAR is to extend
the Museum's influence to senior citizens more effectively.
