President Faust helps rais funds for Legal Aid

Summarized by Kent Larsen

Legal Aid Groups Appeal to Lawyers to Donate Cash
Salt Lake Tribune 28Jan99
By Glenn Guilbeau: Advocate sportswriter

President James E. Faust, second counselor in the First Presidency, planned to appear today at a fundraiser, helping to issue a $100,000 challenge grant to benefit a join campaign by Utah Legal Services, the Disability Law Center and the Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake. If the drive raises $300,000, the challenge grant will be made.

The compaign is targeting the 5,200 attorneys in Utah, seeking to replace funding lost due to federal budget cuts. The three organizations had to turn away over 8,000 people with legal needs.
