Park City UT Record 9Jan99

Auditions for the 1999 national tour of "The Garden," a musical by Mormon composer Michael McLean and Merrill Jenson and Bryce Neubert, will be held on Saturday, January 30th at 9 a.m. at the Utah Institute of Religion, 785 W. College Drive, Orem, Utah. Callbacks will be the same day at 1 p.m.

The 1999 tour will include performances in Upland, California (March 15 & 16) and in Las Vegas (March 27 & 29), as well as in Provo, Utah (April 2, 3 and 5).

The roles of The Ram and The Gardener, understudies for those and other roles and choir members are all needed. Auditioners need to bring their own sheet music and be prepared to sing at least 16 bars of a musical theatre piece.

The performances are produced by the Inland Theatre Guild and Deseret Book. The director will be Thomas Rutherford, who has directed national and regional productions of "EVITA," "Joseph and His Amazing Techincolour Dreamcoat," "1776," and "Grease." He also directed the Christmas Pageant at the Los Angeles Temple.
