LDS Columnist Jack Anderson drove J. Edgar Hoover Crazy

Columnist Jack Anderson, who was raised in a small Mormon community in Utah, drove FBI director J. Edgar Hoover crazy, says Anderson in his recently-released memoirs. Anderson's squeaky clean past, in sharp contrast to his muckraking column, kept Hoover from finding anything he could use to intimidate Anderson.

Anderson is known as the journalist who broke many of the major stories of the 1970s and 1980s. He was one of the first journalists to cover the Watergate break-in, broke the savings-and-loan scandal and helped uncover the secret Iranian arms-for-hostages deal. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1973 for his coverage of the U.S. involvement in the India-Pakistan war.

Enoch Train called 'Enchanting'

The CD Enoch Train, which won five PEARL awards last month, is surprising, says reviewer Archibald. The album contains a number of well-known LDS hymns done in a folksy Celtic style. The cover art for the album is also notable, for its ship motif. The name Enoch Train comes from the name of a ship that brough Mormon immigrants to the United States.
